Vinyl Flooring – Installing laminated wood flooring layer in homes trigger some wrong actions because so many people put a layer of laminate wood flooring in wet rooms such as the kitchen, laundry room or porch. It went down fast, looked great, and installation and removal of old carpeting were always included in the price. We realized that every five years we were spending $2,000 for carpet, another $1350 for cleaning, an average of $500 for a vacuum cleaner plus the cost of supplies and upkeep. We sold the vac the day after we advertised it, thus giving ourselves an extra $300 towards the purchase of new flooring. I don’t have wood floors but hope to replace the icky almost 20 year old carpet this year with engineered wood.
But keep in mind our total cost included the remediation from the water – all the clean up, tearing out the floors, removing and reinstalling our island. They are wide plank and made to look rustic so if we get a scratch all I do is pull out a stain pen and they disappear!:) We have no issues with anything falling in between the planks but I will say that when I paint inside and get paint on the floor it is a bear to get out of the cracks. Love wood floors- and if you think of how you have to replace carpeting but not hardwood, the cost is worth it!!
